The Liberator

The Liberator

The Liberator is a dramatic sculptural display containing a complete set of U.S. Coins minted in 1944, the year of the D-Day invasion. These include the emergency issues made only during World War II to conserve essential war metals: the Lincoln Penny struck with copper recovered from artillery shells and the 35% silver Jefferson Nickel.  Also included are the Mercury Dime, Walking Liberty Half Dollar and Washington Quarter — each made of 90% silver.
