Kennedy Half Dollar - 50th Anniversary Mint Mark Set
A spectacular collection that includes a matching set of 1964 and 2014 coins in original condition from the two U.S. Mints that struck them both.
Fifty years ago, the first Kennedy half dollar was struck in 90% pure silver. When this coin was issued, the U.S. Mint could barely keep up with the demand from collectors. Now, 50 years later, demand for the inaugural 1964 coin is still at fever pitch...and it is destined to get even more frenzied with the release of the limited-edition, never-circulated 50th anniversary coin. Few collectors will be fortunate enough to own both the inaugural 1964 coin and the 50th anniversary 2014 coin.
Remarkably this collection includes BOTH 1964 coins in pristine condition -- one each from the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia and Denver. They are just as fresh and beautiful as the day they were struck 50 years ago! Plus, you'll receive both 2014 50th anniversary coins, one each from the U.S. Mints in Philadelphia and Denver -- also in superb condition. The inaugural 1964 coin was the only year the mint mark was placed on the back. The mint mark on the 2014 50th anniversary coins is on the front.
To protect their finishes, each exceptional Kennedy half dollar is individually encased in a crystal-clear capsule. You can safely examine the fine details on each coin, while shielding it from the damaging effects of dust, dirt and fingerprints.
In addition, you will receive a custom-crafted wooden display with a glass lid featuring a portrait of Kennedy. It is the perfect way to showcase your collection.
Display measures 7" long x 7-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" deep (closed).
